MASH EE SCHOOL COMMITTEE <br /> FINANCE MEETING <br /> JUNE 20, 2007 <br /> Minutes <br /> Attendees: Chairman 1 aryRose Grady, Ralph Mair elli and Becky Romkey. Janice <br /> Mills and Richard Bailey were absent this evening. Also in attendance were <br /> Superintendent of Schools Aran Bradshaw and School Business Administrator Ira Brown. <br /> I. Fall Meeting to Order- Mrs. Grady called the School Committee Finance <br /> meeting to order at : o p.m. in the Quashnet School library. <br /> II. Business Administrator's Report- <br /> Mr.r. Brown reported that through June 14, 2007, the Mashpee School Department <br /> p p <br /> has utilized 88.6% of the FY 07 appropriation budget. Comparatively, the school <br /> district had spent 87.8% of the FY06 appropriation budget through June 16, 2006. <br /> Legative lune items will be rectified by using remaining Circuit Breaker Funds to <br /> cover out-of-district tuitions. At the start of the FY0 7 budget, the Administrative <br /> Wages were not appropriately funded and therefore had a negative balance. other <br /> items were over funded and will therefore cover this line item. <br /> Mr. Brown and Mr. Scott attended a hearing for ars unemployment claim made by <br /> former food service employee. The claimant has been awarded unemployment, <br /> but there will be a final appeal on this claim, <br /> Mr. Tripp has ordered the materials to begin the school's front door security <br /> project, as well as the flooring for the Quashnet and Kenneth C. Coombs. <br /> 2.1 FY 07 Budget Update- Mr. Brown reviewed the report. There were <br /> clarifications about certain line sterns. <br /> 2.2 Status of Grants- Mr. Brown explained that since the grant report had gone <br /> to press that a fund request for$50,000 had been approved for Title I. That makes <br /> the negative balance approximately $8,000, which will be made up with the final <br /> request for Title I. The amendment for Title 11 has also been approved. Special <br /> Education has filed an amendment for Project Adjust. Mr. Brown explained that <br /> he communicates with Dawn Thayer at town ball and sends the fund requests t <br /> her. <br /> Mashpee School Committee Finance Meeting June 20, 2007 <br />
