Mrs. Romkey discussed the need to move the handbook forward for a vote. Mrs. Rornkey made a motion to accept the changes that are in the MHS handbook with the changes as noted, this includes referring the pregnancy policy to the attorney, and inconsistencies as noted by Mr. Marcelli. VOTE: Unanimous i V111. Other- Health Advisory Council- The following changes were Proposed to the Mashpee Public School Wellness Policy: Pg - Food will not be used as a reward or a punishment. Page - Boldface faranot used as a consequence of behavior." Page -The consumption of unflavored bottled water by students throughout the school/classroom will be permitted during the school day, except where water could be deemed a hazard to equipment or an activity. Page - Promotional activities in schools are encouraged to be connected to activities that promote physical activity, academic achievement or positive youth development... • Page - Food available at Parties, celebrations, or meetings should include healthy choices. Page - Bottled water will be available for students at meals at an additional cost. Mrs. Grady noted that the Heath Advisory Committee would like the Wellness Policy to be part of all the' school handbooks, but if the handbooks have already gone to print that the polio should be inserted into the handbook. Thea was some discussion about taking recess array as a consequence of behavior. Mrs. R mkey stated that sometimes this is the only consequence that is � available and that this consequence works. Mrs. Grady disagreed. Mr. Marcelli made a motion to accept the changes the Wellness Polio with the language "which cannot be withheld as a consequence of behavior."
