Mrs. Romkey discussed the need to move the handbook forward for a vote. <br /> Mrs. Rornkey made a motion to accept the changes that are in the MHS handbook <br /> with the changes as noted, this includes referring the pregnancy policy to the <br /> attorney, and inconsistencies as noted by Mr. Marcelli. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous <br /> i <br /> V111. Other- <br /> Health Advisory Council- The following changes were Proposed to the Mashpee <br /> Public School Wellness Policy: <br /> Pg - Food will not be used as a reward or a punishment. <br /> Page - Boldface faranot used as a consequence of behavior." <br /> Page -The consumption of unflavored bottled water by students <br /> throughout the school/classroom will be permitted during the school day, <br /> except where water could be deemed a hazard to equipment or an activity. <br /> Page - Promotional activities in schools are encouraged to be connected <br /> to activities that promote physical activity, academic achievement or <br /> positive youth development... <br /> • Page - Food available at Parties, celebrations, or meetings should include <br /> healthy choices. <br /> Page - Bottled water will be available for students at meals at an <br /> additional cost. <br /> Mrs. Grady noted that the Heath Advisory Committee would like the Wellness <br /> Policy to be part of all the' school handbooks, but if the handbooks have already <br /> gone to print that the polio should be inserted into the handbook. <br /> Thea was some discussion about taking recess array as a consequence of <br /> behavior. Mrs. R mkey stated that sometimes this is the only consequence that is � <br /> available and that this consequence works. Mrs. Grady disagreed. <br /> Mr. Marcelli made a motion to accept the changes the Wellness Polio with the <br /> language "which cannot be withheld as a consequence of behavior." Mrs. Grady <br /> seconded the motion, <br /> VOTE: In favor- Mrs. Grady and Mr. Marcelli; opposed- Mrs. Romkey. <br /> Mir. Marcelli made a motion to accept the Mashpee Public Schools Wellness <br /> Policy, Mrs. Grady seconded. <br /> Mashpee School Committee Finance Meeting.Tune 20, 2007 <br />
