4 v1I. M shpee High School Handbook There was a discussion about page 45 regarding the attendance policy. Mrs. Grady also discussed the pregnancy policy, including language regarding medical clearance. Mrs. Bradshaw stated she would check with the school attorney in this regard. Mrs. Bradshaw pointed out that since the attendance policy and pregnancy policy has changed the school committee policy would also need to be changed. Mrs. Grady also questioned the language about receiving a grade of an "V'. Mrs. Grady discussed that all language needs to reflect one "F". Mr. Marcelli discussed that there were several grammatical errors and inconsistencies that need to be fixed in the handbook. Mir. 1larcelli offered to go through the book and notify Mrs. St. Cyr of these corrections. Mr. Marcelli also discussed that there are several sections that need review, including school hours, non-discrimination, student rights, parent guardian wording, student level chart, out-of-school suspension consistency, and wording regarding direct threats. There was a lengthy discussion about the policy regarding threats. Mrs. Bradshaw explained that for threats the intent is that there are three different scenarios which include Proactive Risk Assessment, Indirect Threat', and Direct Threat. Mr. fees elaborated on this process. Mrs. Grady recommended that the high school put all changes discussed in print and thea bring the handbook back for approval. Mrs. Bradshaw suggested that a policy sub-committee meeting be held prior to the next meeting so that changes could be discussed with the committee prior to the meeting.
