There was discussion with the principals to change this date to 11/20. <br /> There was discussion about the professional development time and what it is used <br /> for. The principals spoke about the importance of professional development. <br /> Mrs. Bradshaw asked the Committee about eliminating 4 and having only 2 half <br /> days at the high school. <br /> Mr. Bailey asked Mrs, Bradshaw to put together a report for KCC and QS <br /> (together) and Mashpee High School that compares last year's professional <br /> development days to this year's days and to give ars explanation ofeach.date. <br /> XIV. Update on Maintenance Vehicles <br /> Mr, Tripp reviewed an inventory of maintenance vehicles. They are as follows: <br /> • 1995 GMC pick u <br /> 1997 GMC pick up <br /> 1996 Ford Dump Truck <br /> 1996 Bobcat <br /> • 2006 Tractor <br /> _ There was discussion to contact the Cape Cod Regional Technical School to see if <br /> they do repair work on vehicles. There was discussion to continue to put vehicle <br /> requests CIP. <br /> XV. Budget Update <br /> Mrs. Grady stated that she recognized Ms. aA,vtges comments and wants the <br /> Mashpee Teachers Association to have input into the budget. <br /> She stated that the committee's decision not to move forward with proposition <br /> 2 1/2 was not planned but was a result of information received at the last meeting <br /> from the Finance Committee on what the fiscal finances would look like for <br /> next year with or without an override. <br /> The principles and guidelines the committee has developed in order to sake <br /> budget cuts are as follows: <br /> 1. The School Committee is not willing to re-open contract negotiations with any <br /> bargaining unit. This eliminates several of the suggestions proposed by the <br /> administration. <br /> 2. The School Committee intends to make cuts in general expense and <br /> administrative areas first, and to disrupt classroom instruction and support as little <br /> School Committee Regular Minutes 4/2/08 <br />
