• Write a page now, promise to proofread and correct it at another time. <br /> • Go on to the next small, but the imperfect part <br /> • Make it fun! <br /> • Allow for other activities during a project <br /> • Schedule frequent breaks, but stay nearby so you don't get sidetracked <br /> • Plan rewards along the way <br /> • When rewards are earned-they can work wonders. <br /> The National Association of Procrastinators estimates there are over 1 million members who haven't got around to joining yet. <br /> Curing Disorganization <br /> • Being messy and disorganized is a big problem... but it's completely curable <br /> • Accept the need to not put off for later what you should do now <br /> • Develop new study skills and habits <br /> • Make learning your full-time job while in High School <br /> Getting Organized <br /> • Put all notes and handouts from each subject into clearly marked folder <br /> • Keep them in order from most recent to past,facing upright <br /> • Never mix materials from one class into the folder for another class <br /> • File loose papers and throw out junk so you can find what you need! <br /> Attempt All Homework <br /> • Trying is essential because everyone learns from their mistakes! <br /> • Giving up leads to certain failure <br /> • Doing most of the homework most of the time is not good enough <br /> • To improve you must attempt it all,every day! <br /> Write or Print Neatly <br /> • Poor writing makes teachers read slowly and carefully...they'll find every mistake you make! <br /> • Careful writing has fewer mistakes so teachers will be more generous in grading <br /> • Teachers always prefer a neat assignment that doesn't make them work so hard to figure it out! <br /> Pay Attention to Spelling <br /> • In High school,spelling counts in all classes not just in English <br /> • Poor spelling is a way to lose credit even if you understand what you are writing down! <br /> • There's no such thing as a poor speller only a lazy person who could spell better! <br /> Page 20 of 30 <br />
