There was discussion that there has been an increase in the number of
free and reduced food applications. There was discussion that there will be new
regulations in place for healthier food next year.
Mrs. Paxton reviewed a draft meal charge policy. She explained the policy is needed because
the food service account cannot have a negative balance, and as such a policy on lunch
charging is needed. Mrs. Paxton reviewed a policy drafted by her and former business
administrator Maria Hortaridis. Mrs. Paxton told the committee she will fine tune the
policy and bring it back to the committee for a second read.
Mrs. Paxton also requested additional staffing for her department. She requested to
increase the hours of her administrative assistant from 6 to 7.5 hours per day and increase
her work days to 195. It was determined this would be at a cost of$5160.00
David Bloomfield made a motion, seconded by Janice Mills to increase the food service
administrative assistant position from 6 hours a day to 7.5 hours per day and the work
year from 190 to 195 days.
Roll Call Vote: In favor- David Bloomfield, Scott Mc Gee, Janice Mills, Jose Franco,
and Kathy Stanley; Opposed- None.
Mrs. Paxton also requested a food service cook helper at the Coombs School.
