There was mention at the C P <br /> meeting of taking a debt exclusion route. The Executive <br /> Secretary requested $50, 000 from the CIP for equipment for the <br /> new Town Hall and $20, 000 for window treatments f r the <br /> p rating fund.. Mr. Kumin had suggested cutting the $50, 000 in <br /> half . <br /> Budget Processes <br /> Mr. Golub mentioned that there is usually some type of bcheduling <br /> that Mr. whritenour• provides, so that the Finance Committee will <br /> know in advance of the budget meetings with department heads. <br /> Mr. Goggin mentioned that also in the past the Committee has <br /> always had worksheets surnmarizing what departments,, S le tmen and <br /> Finance Committee are doing. Mr. Kumin agreed to try to prepare <br /> these worksheets . Mr. Kumin will speak to Marcia King. <br /> Schools <br /> Mr. Golub mentioned that he has received telephone calls from <br /> bath Mr. Whritenour and Mr. Costa regardinq $140, 000 for air <br /> quality control for the Coombs School . The School Department is <br /> also looking for an increase in their~ budget of 30% . The School <br /> would also like a commitment of $65, 000 hi h they have spent dine <br /> to the late opening of the high school . Mr. watt was concerned, <br /> they have only had the budgets to look at for a week. The <br /> Finance Committee agreed that they need se time to review all <br /> budget requests from all departments . Mr. Golub stated that <br /> according to the High School Building Committee Stone will have <br /> stopped paying the utility bills as of January 6th. <br /> Contract <br /> Mr. Golub spore with Mr. Whrit nous about the correspondence th t � <br /> was sent with the Finance Commit-tee I s thoughts in regard to the <br /> Police Contrac-t . Mr. whritenour felt it was a good piece of <br /> work, but that the Selectmen have not taken action. Them has <br /> been no acceptance or denial . The Selectmen, howeve , did review <br /> it . Mr. Golub mentioned that they would go into Executive <br /> Session with the Seloctmen later in the evening. <br /> Town Mall Capital Improvements <br /> Mr. whritenour joined the Finance o mittee and. mentioned that he <br /> had received some hard numbers in regard to -furniture for the <br /> Town Hall . According to the Executive Secretary these are <br /> unforeseen, because there was never much of a budget -for <br /> furniture . He asks that the Finance Committee provide $5, 000 for <br /> window treatments . The initial estimate was $20, 000 . Mr. Golub <br /> asked if there was $5, 000 anywhere in the ele toren' s budget? <br /> The Executive Se retar answered that it was a big amount to tape <br />
