Mr. Golub asked if the Finance Committee could deal <br /> with it as the Expense Account approaches zero. Mr. Whritenour ' <br /> also informed the group that there were asbestos, lead and <br /> structural damage that had been unforeseen and used up the <br /> building budget . Mike Ku in Motioned to approve the emergency <br /> transfer request in the amount of $5, 000 for window treatments . <br /> Ms . Gou l ar t seconded the Motion and members app oved -1, Mr. <br /> Goggin opposed. <br /> Tax Rate <br /> . Golub requested that Mr. Whritenour provide the Committee <br /> with a revision of his three year plan. Mr. Whritenour mentioned <br /> that he was counting on that $750, 000 . Mr. Golub asked about the <br /> effect on the tax rate. <br /> Mr. Golub inquired about a response to the letter sent to Mr. <br /> Whritenour from Jinn McGonagle. Mt. Whritenour claimed that Mr. <br /> McGonagle' s information was inaccurate. <br /> Other Business <br /> Mr. Golub mentioned that the Finance Committee' s budget has an <br /> extra $5, 000 in it for Finance Committee mailings . Mt. <br /> hriteno r stated that his next budget meeting is February 3rd. <br /> Mr. Golub stated that the Committee' s liaisons to these <br /> departments would be interested in attending these meetings and <br /> could not understand why they would not have 'been notified. Mr. <br /> Whritenour stated that he would get a meeting scheduled over to <br /> the Committee . Mr. Whritenour chid mention also that this year <br /> there are some very serious issues, for example maintaining <br /> property taxes and huge pressures from the school . <br /> The Finance Committee members joined the Board of Selectmen and <br /> the School Committee and their joint meeting commenced at :0 PM. <br /> Board of Selectmen present : George Costa, Chairman; Nancy <br /> a yn; Peter Di i io and Ken Marsters . Bob Whritenour, <br /> Executive Secretary and his Assistant, Joyce Mason were also <br /> present . <br /> School Connittee members present: Kathy Lynch, Steve Paxton, <br /> Term Cook, Maryanne McDonald and Janice Mills . Dr. -Lincoln <br /> DeMoura was also present for discussion. <br /> Mr. Whritenour opened the Meeting by outlining discussions he had <br /> with Dr. DeMoura regarding air quality problems at the schools, <br /> delays in opening of the high school and material challenge's <br /> facing the schools in FY9 . Chairman Costa mentioned that the <br /> Selectmen had agreed to cut off the meeting at 9PM. <br />
