S lashpee Finance Committee Minutes Monday,December 8, 1997 Present: Alec Watt, Chairman Jim Cleary, Tony Gallo,Dam Goggin, Sidney Golub,Fancy GoularL Mike Kumin Absent: None Also Present: Fire Chief George Baker Meeting Called to Order by Chairman Watt at 6;30 p.m. at the Mashpee Town Hall, Selectmen's fleeting Room,on Monday,December 8, 1997. FIRS DEPARTMENT REUEST FOR TRANSFER,- Fire RANSFER;Fire Chief George Baker submitted a Request for Transfer from the Reserve Fund in the amount of$10,784.67 to be transferred to the Fire Department Expense Account. Fire Chief Baker made a presentation regarding the Request for Transfer. Chief Balser stated that the Request for Transfer is for the unexpected repairs to the"blown" engine in the Fire l epartmcnt's 1967 International Brush Breaker. Chief Baker informed the)Finance Committee that on July 8, 1337,the Fire Department responded to a smoke investigation which tumcd out to be a structure fire at Camp Vin Haven. In route to this call,the Brush Breaker threw a push rod,damaging the engine Bead, thus"blowing"the engine. The total repair bill is$10,784.67 which includes towing,block removal,head replacement, machining and other related repairs. Mr. Golub made a motion to approve the Request for Transfer from the Reserve Fund to the Fire Department Expense Account for the requested amount of$10,784.67. Motion second by Mrs. Goulart. Note; Unanimous 7-0. WATER DISTRICT BUILD Nom: Mr. Golub informed the Finance Committee that he had a discussion with Diane Rommelmeyer, Town Accountant,with respect to a new building for the water District. He stated that the Vater District is looking for$250,000 to$300,000 for the design and placement of the building and another half of a million dollars down the road for building it. Mr.Golub stated that the meeting is scheduled for tomorrow evening.
