S <br /> lashpee Finance Committee <br /> Minutes <br /> Monday,December 8, 1997 <br /> Present: Alec Watt, Chairman <br /> Jim Cleary, Tony Gallo,Dam Goggin, Sidney Golub,Fancy GoularL Mike Kumin <br /> Absent: None <br /> Also <br /> Present: Fire Chief George Baker <br /> Meeting Called to Order by Chairman Watt at 6;30 p.m. at the Mashpee Town Hall, <br /> Selectmen's fleeting Room,on Monday,December 8, 1997. <br /> FIRS DEPARTMENT REUEST FOR TRANSFER,- <br /> Fire <br /> RANSFER;Fire Chief George Baker submitted a Request for Transfer from the Reserve Fund in the <br /> amount of$10,784.67 to be transferred to the Fire Department Expense Account. <br /> Fire Chief Baker made a presentation regarding the Request for Transfer. Chief Balser stated <br /> that the Request for Transfer is for the unexpected repairs to the"blown" engine in the Fire <br /> l epartmcnt's 1967 International Brush Breaker. <br /> Chief Baker informed the)Finance Committee that on July 8, 1337,the Fire Department <br /> responded to a smoke investigation which tumcd out to be a structure fire at Camp Vin <br /> Haven. In route to this call,the Brush Breaker threw a push rod,damaging the engine Bead, <br /> thus"blowing"the engine. <br /> The total repair bill is$10,784.67 which includes towing,block removal,head replacement, <br /> machining and other related repairs. <br /> Mr. Golub made a motion to approve the Request for <br /> Transfer from the Reserve Fund to the Fire Department <br /> Expense Account for the requested amount of$10,784.67. <br /> Motion second by Mrs. Goulart. <br /> Note; Unanimous 7-0. <br /> WATER DISTRICT BUILD Nom: <br /> Mr. Golub informed the Finance Committee that he had a discussion with Diane <br /> Rommelmeyer, Town Accountant,with respect to a new building for the water District. He <br /> stated that the Vater District is looking for$250,000 to$300,000 for the design and <br /> placement of the building and another half of a million dollars down the road for building it. <br /> Mr.Golub stated that the meeting is scheduled for tomorrow evening. <br />
