He commented that he would much rather have a person under their control for public safety—police and fire; however,if someone else is added to the staff at Town Ha11 and would be able to accomplish the job,that would be acceptable. He noted that you cannot allow your investment to deteriorate. Chief Przybylek added that he will push for another person on the clerical staff. He noted that it is a big department with a lot of activity. He said that he will also talk about some of the small issues,such as the infection control reduction. Overall,he stated that their major emphasis will be on the maintenance and the clerical position. POLICE DEPARTMENT FEDERAL GRANT FOCUSING ON TECHNOLOGY: Chairman watt stated questioned Chief Przybylek if he took care of the Article for the Federal Grant program which focuses on technology and the improvement of technology in the Police Department, Chief Przybylek stated that he has taken care of it. He added that he would ask for the support of the Finance Committee at the Special Town Meeting, recognizing the amount of money that they will bring in and the amount of positive impact that it will have on the C.I.P. He noted that he has prepared the Article and already submitted it. MEETING TING SCHEDULE FOR THE FINANCE COMMITTEE: Chairman watt reviewed the meeting schedule of the Finance Committee and noted the various departments along with when they are scheduled to appear before the Finance Committee. Chairman watt noted that if anyone has any other department's they feel the need to meet with to let him know, TOWN OF MASHP L BUDGET REPORT, DRAFT-#2, DATED 2!519$: copy of the Town of Mashpee Budget Report,Preliminary Budget##2,dated February 5, 1998,hs-ting the recommendation of the Executive Secretary(noted under Selectmen Recommendations),was distributed to the Finance Committee members. The Finance Committee members reviewed the Budget Deport. For recommendations by the Finance Committee, refer to own ofMash ,Finance CommitteeBudget Report for FY99",dated 2112/98, submitted as part of these minutes. Mr. Golub made a motion whcrein departments where there is a flat,no increase,with the exception of communications, be accepted at the flat,no increase,minus last year's communication, if it is not already so indicated-by the Selectmen"s recommendation. Second by Mrs.-Goulart. Vote:Unanimous 5-0.
