k <br /> 6 <br /> 5:55 Police Full-Time Clerical <br /> Chief Przybylek noted that this items needs some discussion. He noted that originally they <br /> submitted a budget figure of$61,725. This figure was reduced to$27,279 which is level <br /> funding on that line for the current year. Chief Przybylek stated that in this line,they are <br /> asking for two new positions—a clerical position and a maintenance coordinator. <br /> He noted that the Police Department has one full-time clerical person. He added that even the <br /> smallest operation in Town Hall has a two and three person clerical Aff. Chief Przybylek <br /> stated that this clerical person was for a salary of$18,006 a year. He thought that this would <br /> relieve some of the cost that was paid to Town Hall for floating clerk support. <br /> Chief Przybylek stated that the second position is for a Maintenance Coordinator. H <br /> informed the Finance Committee members that they have noticed that their building <br /> maintenance is starting to become problematic and they are always in conflict with Town Hall <br /> when it comes to repair costs,generally for their heating and air conditioning system. If the <br /> bill was small,it would go routinely through the Maintenance Department and be taken care <br /> f, However,anytime there was a major problem,they were asked to take the money out of <br /> other line items in their account because the Town Hall did not have adequate funds to pay <br /> for it and they did not have adequate staff to cone and fix things before they became a lot <br /> worse. The position would be for routine maintenance items, such as heating and air <br /> condi <br />
