Mr. Taylor asked the Finance Comnuittee how they feel about the Department of Public Works budget. chairman watt not that the D.P.W.Expense budget request total is$383,411 and the Selectmen's recommendation for Expense is$377,055. Mr. Taylor noted that he could work within the Selectmen's recommendation. Mr. Golub questioned Mr. Taylor if the requested Engineering position would be a union position. Mr. Taylor stated that he believes it would be a union position in the Manager's union. Mr. Taylor noted that they are hoping for someone wraith 10 years experience after graduating college. Mrs. Goulart noted that the line item for D.P.W. repairs and Maintenance is$5,000 over last year's budget request. Mr. Taylor stated that this is the fund for ongoing road work that is used for all the drainage and road work. He added that it is really the operational fund for town goads. Mr. Golub questioned the amount of$6,,000 listed in D.P.W. Communication and what it is used for. Mr. Taylor stated that primarily it is used for -way radio equipment that they have and the replacement of some of that equipment. Motion to Approve D.P.W. Sala l a e: Notion made by lir. Golub to approve the D.P.W. Salarywage budget request in the amount of$560,935 as presented. Notion seconded by Mrs. Goulart. Vote: Unanimous. 6-0. Motion to Approve D.P.W.Expense: Motion made by Mr. Golub to approve the D.P.W.Expense in the amount of$3771,055 as presented. Motion seconded by Mrs. Goulrt. Vote:Unanimous. 6-0. Motion to Approve n in r: Motion made by Mx. Golub to accept the Town Engineer budget request in the amount of $41,000 as presented.. Motion seconded by Mr. Goggin. Vote:Unanimous.6-0.
