Mashpee Finance Committee Minutes Tuesday,May 19, 1998 Present: Alec Watt, Chairman Stere Cashman, Sidney Golub,Nancy Goulart,Mike I umin Absent: Dean Arden,Tony Gallo Meting Called to Order by ChairmanWatt at 637 p.m. at the Mashpee Town Hall,Meeting Room#1,on Tuesday,May 1 , 1998. -LAW ISSUES: Chairman Watt commented that there are two by4aws at issue. Chairman Watt Mated that he attended a greeting which Town Council chaired. The two by-law provisions at issue are By- Laws 27-6 and 27-13. Chairman Nutt stated that he brought the decision up to the board in which there was a preliminary decision rejecting Christopher Burden's reorganization plan. Chairman Watt stated that he didn't think that there was going to be any further investigation into the actions of the Collector;however, he did mote that Town Council will be taking an active role regarding the issue. MEWT S: Tuesday;Apri121, 1998,Regular Session Motion made by Mr. Golub to approve the Finance Committee Minutes of Tucy,April 21, 1998,as submitted. Motion seconded by Mrs. Goulart. Mr. Cashman not voting because he was not present at the meeting. Vote:Unanimous.4-0. Monday, rla1 998 Re ar Session Motion made by Mrs. Goulart to approve the Finance Committee Minutes of Monday,May 4, 1998,as submitted. Motion seconded by Mr. Golub. Mr. Cashman not voting because he was not present at the meeting. Vote: Unanimous. 4-0. FMANCE COMMITTEE MEMBER STEVE CASHMA : Chairman Watt stated that there is a controversy with Steve Cashman's position on the Finance Committee. Mr. Cashman stated that by serving on the Finance Committee, he is in conflict with a Town -lav because,as a member of the Town Fire Department.,he is a town employee. He stated that his intention would be to resign his position as a member of the Finance Cornnuittee.
