Originally, they were going to submit for three additional police officer
positions via grant money; however,he has withdrawn that request. They are now only
seeldng one new position for the department—a full-time clerical position for police
administration to do routine clerical items such as filing, typing, and correspondence. In
addition,one-half of the cleric person's time would probably be spent on the Firearms
Licensing nsing Laws. Chief Przybylek noted that this position would give them clerical support in
their department. Chief Przybylek added that considering thea of the department in
comparison to the other large departments, they are the only one who does not have a tel-
time clerical person.
Chief Przybylek noted that they still have one Patrol Officer vacancy, which has been vacant
since July 1998. The reason the position is still vacant is that the Selectmen are still trying to
reach a final product on their ro Tufting policy.
Chairwoman Goulart questioned Chief Przybylek how many Police Officers they have on staff'
right now.
