5 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> January 8, 2018 <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> Discussion and App oval of Second Amendment to the Memorandum of Understandin2 between the <br /> Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe and the Town of Mashpee ee for the Provision of Fire Protection and <br /> Emergency Medical Services and Law Enforcement Mutual Aid Assistance: <br /> The Board of Selectmen reviewed the Second .Amendment to the extension of the duration of the <br /> Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Town and Tribe for the provision of fire <br /> protection and emergency medical services and law enforcement mutual aid assistance for a one-year <br /> period terminating on January 11, 2019. <br /> It was disclosed the Board of Selectmen have made several attempts beginning in June of 2016 to <br /> arrange a joint meeting to be held in compliance with the open Meeting Law, between the respective <br /> parties to review simple multiparty priorities. There has been no response from the Tribe to arrange a <br /> joint meeting with the Board of Selectmen. <br /> In the matter of public safety, it was agreed the MOU would be extended, but deferred fully until such <br /> time a j oint meeting would be held to consider common matters of mutual importance, <br /> Motion made by Selectman Gottlieb to extend the Memorandum of Understanding between the <br /> Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe and the Town of Mashpee for the provision of Fire Protection, <br /> Emergency Medical Services and Law Enforcement Mutual Aid Assistance to February 28, 2018 <br /> with the contingency that a joint meeting be held prior to February 28, 2018. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Cotton. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> Doll Call vote; <br /> Selectman O'Hara,yes Selectman Cotton,yes Selectman Sherman,yes <br /> Selectman Cahalane,yes Selectman Gottlieb,yes opposed, none <br /> Through the chairman to chairman protocol, Chairman O'Hara would male arrangements to develop a <br /> collaborative meeting with the respective parties. <br />
