7 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> February 12, 201 <br /> Certification and Confirmation of Town Planner: <br /> A screening committee consisting of the Assistant Town Manager,the Hunan Resource Director,two <br /> members of the Board of Selectmen and two Planning Board members interviewed candidates for the <br /> position of Town Planner. <br /> It was disclosed the candidate strongly recommended by the screening committee withdrew his <br /> application. The screening committee reconvened minus the two Board of Selectmen members, and <br /> unanimously recommended the appointment of Evan Lehrer to fill the position created as a.result of <br /> the retirement of F. Thomas Fudala. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Cahalane to certify and confirm the appointment of Evan R. Lehrer <br /> to the position of Town Planner as recommended. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Gottlieb. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous* -o. <br /> Doll Call vote: <br /> Selectman O'Hara,yes Selectman Cotton,yes Selectman Sherman,yes <br /> Selectman Cahalanc,yes Selectman Gottlieb,yes opposed, none <br /> Review and Approval of the Use of the Town's Sediment Disposal Footprint for the Trucked In Sand <br /> on the Popponesset it: Waterways Commission, Chairman Kenneth Bates-, <br /> Iden dates, Chair of the waterways Commission was before the Board to request administrative <br /> approval under their Chapter 91 Permit#14006 to allow trucked in sand to be deposited by Save <br /> Popponesset Bay and the woods Hole Group in the Town's sediment disposal footprint as delineated <br /> under the Town's Comprehensive Permit NAE 2013 1241. <br /> It was disclosed the Save Popponesset Bay and the woods Hole Group have expired permits and are <br /> awaiting approval from.Natural Heritage. when approval is received, a permit would be issued by the <br /> Town and administered by the Conservation Commission. This would not become a permanent part <br /> of the Town's Comprehensive Permit. <br /> As per this agreement, there would be no expense to the Town. The action would provide protection <br /> to the Town should a catastrophic event occur.. All Town rules and regulations for sediment disposal <br /> on the Spit footprint would be adhered to under the Town's permit., <br /> Motion made by Selectman Gottlieb to authori c Save the Bay and the woods Hole Group to <br /> utilize the Town's disposal area under the Chapter 91 Permit#14006, subject to the legal review <br /> and indemnification to the Town for any liability.
