Motion carries* <br /> Roll Call Vote* <br /> Selectman OHara,yes selectman cotton,yes selectman Sherman,yes <br /> Selectman Cahalane,yes Selectman Gottlieb no opposed, 1) <br /> Discussion and Approval of Cge Cod Regional `echnical High School Debt Exclusion Ballot <br /> Question for May..15, 2 018 :. <br /> Dawn Thayer, Finance Director was in attendance with Craig Mayen,the Treasurer/Tax Collector to <br /> review the requirements relative to placing a debt exclusion question on the May 2018 Election ballot <br /> to cover the Town's share of the Cape Cod Regional Technical High School construction project debt. <br /> As per the opinion of bond counsel, the Town is not required to vote at Town Meeting to place this <br /> question on the ballot. However, a /3 s vote of the Board of Selectmen 1s required under M. ,L,, <br /> Chapter 59, s. 1 . <br /> specimen Ballot Question for the Cape Cod Regional Technical High School District Election on <br /> Tuesday, October 24, 20I was presented to the Board of Selectmen for review and approval. It was <br /> disclosed the Town of Mashpee as a member district is obligated to pay this debt. If the ballot <br /> question does not pass, there would be a substantial impact to the operating budget of the Town of <br /> Mashpee. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Gottlieb as follows; <br /> In accordance with the provisions of Chapter 59, Section 2W(k) of the General Laws,I move to <br /> approve the placement of the following question on the ballot for the town election to be held on <br /> October 24, 2018: <br /> Shall the Town of Mashpee be allowed to exempt from the provisions of proposition two and <br /> one-half, so-called, the amounts required to pay for the Town's allocable share of the bond - <br /> issued by the Cape Cod Regional Technical High School District in order to pay costs of <br /> designing, constructing, originally equipping and furnishing a new District high school to be <br /> located at 351 Pleasant Lake Avenue, Harwich, including the payment of all costs incidental or <br /> related thereto' <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Cotton <br /> OTE: Unanimous.
