6 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> March 26 2018 <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> Update from the Town Manager on winter Storm Sly lay: <br /> Town Manager Rodney C. Collins updated the Board of Selectmen on winter storm Skylar, <br /> It is anticipated that an excess of$30,000 was expended in overtime for Police, Fixe and DPW, - <br /> During a 48 hour period over 400 calls were received for services. The DPW and public safety personnel <br /> were commended for their collaborative efforts and response. <br /> The Town of Mashpee experienced power outages with downed wires and trees from heavy wind which <br /> resulted in road closures. Several large trees at the Mashpee Rotary were significantly dama ed. <br /> school bus used by the Cape Cod Collaborative also sustained damage from the winter storm. <br /> Certification of HiriL-ig Process Police Officer Katie Hennesse <br /> Chief of Police Scott Carline remitted communication to the Board of Selectmen dated March 20,, 2018 <br /> affirming that all phases of the entry level selection process have been completed and are consistent with <br /> all policies and procedures followed by the Town for the hiring of Katie Hennessey to the position of <br /> police officer conditional upon the certification of the selection process. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Gottlieb to certify and confirm the Hiring Process for the appointment <br /> of Katie Hennessey to the entry level position of Police officer for the Town of Mashpee. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Sherman. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. -o. <br /> Roll Call Vote <br /> Selectman O'Hara,yes Selectman Cotton,yes Selectman Sherman,yes <br /> Selectman Cahalan e,yes Selectman Gottlieb,yes Opposed, none <br /> Board of Selectmen Policies: <br /> Board of Selectmen Policy 076 Issuance and. Use of Stickers and Passes Polis : <br /> Deborah Dami,,the Town Clerk was in attendance to review the Issuance and Use of Stickers and Passes <br /> Policy with members of the Board of Selectmen, With regards to the Veterans Lifetime Pass to access <br /> the beaches eligible purchasers must present their DD 214-Discharge Form under Honorable Conditions, <br /> The Veteran's Administration will supply a copy of the Veteran's DD 214 if needed+ It is also necessary <br /> for the Lifetime Pass to be renewed every five years,. <br /> The Board of Selectmen expressed appreciation to Cindy Jones of the Heroes in Transition organization <br /> for contributing the costs associated,to creating the Veteran's Lifetime Pass. The hanging placard will be <br /> displayed on the front dashboard or hung from the rearview mirror to allow the Veterans to access the <br /> beaches at-no cost. The Town Clerk was also recognized for working diligently on this project. <br />
