<br /> <br />COUNCIL ON AGING MINUTES <br />MEETING MARCH 21, 2018 <br />MASHPEE SENIOR CENTER <br /> <br />Present: Council on Aging Members: David Egel, Jean Noussee, Marijo Gorney, <br />Virginia McIntyre, Council on Aging Director Lynne Waterman and Outreach <br />Coordinator Darlene Perkins <br /> <br />Absent: Norah McCormick and Mary Gaffney <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES: February 21, 2018 <br /> <br />Motion: Jean Noussee moved to approve the February 21, 2018 minutes, <br />seconded by Virginia McIntyre. Vote unanimous 4-0 <br /> <br />Public Comment – None <br /> <br />COMMUNICATIONS AND CORRESPONDENCE <br /> <br />Director’s Report <br /> <br />The Director distributed her report for the month of February. She highlighted several <br />ongoing activities highlighting the AARP Tax Aide Program. She noted that she and <br />the Outreach Coordinator met with the Staff Member of the Wampanoag Tribe who <br />assists the Tribe’s elders and they also met with staff from the Visiting Nurse <br />Association of Cape Cod to plan future programs. The Director met with staff from a <br />local hospice agency to schedule a future bereavement group. <br /> <br />The Minibus Driver, Director, and Outreach Coordinator met for their monthly meeting. <br />The Director thanked DPW who made several small repairs. She noted they are in the <br />process of replacing the copier in the main office which went out of service after many <br />years. <br /> <br />The Director stated the Mature Worker position of Elder Services of Cape Cod has not <br />been filled. <br /> <br />The Director reviewed the meetings she attended which included she spoke at the <br />February meeting of the Town’s Affirmative Action Committee and will be joining the <br />committee to represent the Council on Aging. <br /> <br />The Director stated the Administrative Secretary and Office Assistant are continuing to <br />work on updating the training manual for the front desk volunteers.
