.Resource Area: Buffer Zone to BVW, Freshwater Wetland, LS cS F <br /> Nancy McSweeney, homeowner, stated she was requesting to remove five trees and trim two large <br /> trees on her property She noted the five trees are either dead, overhanging the house or <br /> diseased. She was requesting to remove one pitch pine in front that overhangs the roof, remove <br /> one sassafras on left side of house that overhangs the roof, remove one sassafras and one black <br /> oak near the deck and trim large, broken and dead limbs on 2 black oafs in the rear. <br /> The Agent shoved the location of the trees on the photos. He agreed the trees pose a hazard but <br /> suggested one of the trees could'be saved and stated there needs to be a compelling need to <br /> remove this tree. He requested an arborist assess the tree and if the arborist assesses a <br /> compelling need to have it core down then it can be removed. He recommended a Negative <br /> Determination with the exception of the one tree and if the arborist deems a compelling reason, his <br /> office can handle it with the arborist. <br /> No comment from the public <br /> Motion: I'111r. Sweet moved a Negative Determination for 4 trees to be removed and the fifth <br /> tree to be removed at the discretion of the Agent after hearing from the arborist, seconded <br /> by Mr. Shag. vote unanimous 6-0 <br /> 6:03 John & ,Janet Pinoa 43 Shoestring Bay Road. proposed tree removal with mitigation <br /> plantings. At request of applicant, continued from 1/11 to submit plans. RDA <br /> A <br /> Resource Area: Buffer zone to coastal bank (Shoestring Bay). <br /> Arlene Wilson, Principal Environmental Consultant, represented the applicant. She said the <br /> proposal is the removal of 4 oak trees. She noted the trees are unstable and are a safety hazard if <br /> they were to break and fall on the house andlor-pool area during a storm event. She said applicant <br /> is requesting to cut the trees to grade grinding the cuts and stabilized with fill. She described the <br /> mitigation would consist of the planting of shrubs near the pool retaining wall and the planting of 4 <br /> native trees. <br /> The Agent noted he agreed with the assessment of the arborist and the mitigation proposed and <br /> recommended a Negative Determination. - <br /> No Comment from the Public <br /> Motion: Mr* Sweet moved a Negative Determination, seconded by Mr. Smith, Vote <br /> unanimous. 6-0 <br /> 6:06 Save Popponesset Bay, Inc., O-Rear Wading place road. Proposed maintenance <br /> dredging and beach nourishment. At request of applicant, continued from 1119117 to <br /> address Natural Heritage & Endangered Species program concerns and submit revised <br /> plans. NOI <br /> Resource Area: LSCSF, 'Ione, coastal Dune, coastal Beach, Barrier Beach, land <br /> Containing Shellfish, Rare Species Habitat <br /> Tara Marden, coastal Geologist, Project Manager, Woods Hole Group, represented the applicant. <br /> She explained the proposed project consists of maintenance dredging within an existing navigation <br /> channel in Popponessetreek and dune nourishment along the Popponesset Spit. The dredging <br /> is-confined to a 500-foot stretch of the routinely dredged channel at the tip of Popponesset Island <br />
