She noted that they <br /> need to be at a certain point in the project before they can even apply for the money. You <br /> must have your schematics before you can apply. She noted that they are hoping Mn the next <br /> year,that the bond money will be theme. <br /> MS,] eFoe noted that they are talking about adding 7500 square feet for the Library. <br /> Chairwoman GoWart con ented on Article 28 regarding a Library Addition Building <br /> Committee and the request of$5,000. Ms.I eFoe stated that the Building Committee will <br /> need a Board'Secretary. <br /> UDgET REVIEW - LEISURE,SE VIC S: <br /> Mr. Gus Frederick,Leisure Vices Director,,was present to dross the Library's Fish Year <br /> 2000 Budget Wiest. <br /> Mr.Frederick stated that in the Salary&Wage account;he has retested a few extras. He <br /> noted that at least one extra has been eliminated by the Selectmen and he noted that he can <br /> live with that. He stated that-they have a Child Care Coordinator that oversees their pre- <br /> school prograrn,the before,school and after-school program.,sunnier camps,and smaller <br /> activities as well. Basically,what they do is any money colleted from the progrims pays for <br /> her full-time salary, This past year,her position has been brought into the union and he feels <br /> that the position should be covered under the d'own's appropriation rather than keeping it Mi <br /> the revolving account. He commented that it is a quite successful position in the program. <br /> m. <br /> However,bause of the situation that the Town is in at this time,the Selectmen felt that they <br /> couldn't be carrying it out of the Devolving Account and put it into Town appropriation; so <br /> they are going to leave it like it is for now. He commented that,however,in the future,he <br /> would like to request that the position be covered under the Town's appropriation. <br /> He sued that they also have an Article in the Warrant to-have her rmsmted again and paid <br /> for under the soon that is known as 5 -1 . <br /> IIx.Frederick stated that the incrc=s in Salary&Wage are dine to stela increases and <br /> contract agreements. He noted that for full-time,it is himself,the Program Supervisor,and <br /> an Administrative Assistant. <br /> Chairwoman Goulart queesooned Mr.Frederick on how many he is requesting in <br /> the budtet. Mr.Frederick stated that he will be having the same amount of lifeguards,but <br /> there is an increase in the hours that the lifeguards are on the beach. <br /> Mr.Frederick stated that his LeisUire Service Advisory Council has reconunended that the <br /> Department develop a Steer Playground Program and provide two Park&Playground <br /> employees in two areas of the town. Onc Playgror nd Program employee would be at Heritage <br /> Park in the morning and an anemoon playground program would be at A=quin Park in ft <br /> a ernoon. These would be V2day summer programs. <br /> Chairwoman Goul=questioned Mr.Frederick on his item in the Capital budget for$149000, <br /> Mr.Frederick said that they put in a Grant application to redo the building;and., <br /> unfortunately they did not remove the fit. He stated that it costs$450,000 to redo the <br />
