l iashpce Finance Committee <br /> Minutes <br /> Monday,October 4, 1999 <br /> OCTOBER TONT 1 TING <br /> Present: Chairwoman Fancy Gouhart <br /> Dean Arden,Jeff Arnold, Steve Cashman,Sidney Golub,James Morgan,Chuck Sheehan <br /> Absent: None <br /> The Finance Committee Meeting was called to order by Chairwoman Goulart at 7:00 P.M.at <br /> the Quashnet School Gymnasiwn on Monday,Obex 4, 1999, <br /> 5 <br /> i <br /> OCTOBER J[OWN METING,.ARTICLE <br /> SEWER COMMISSION. <br /> Mr.Arnold discussed Article 10. He said this Article will fund the second phase(first phase <br /> already completed)involving development of similar information on tolerable nitrogen levels <br /> for Hamblin Pond,Little liver,Jehu Pond,Great River,and the Qua hhet River estuary. He <br /> noted that these are ponds and lakes and he can't see spending Yz million dollars for this. He <br /> added that it is a study and unbohdatble and it comes out of the taxpayer money. <br /> OCTOBER' OWN MEETING, ARTICLE <br /> FUNDING NG FOR DREDGING AND EQUIPMENT: <br /> Mr.Arnold commented on Article 9,which affects 12 to 13 homeowners on the lashpee <br /> River. He stated that it is making the Mashp a River navigable for these homeowners to take <br /> their boats out. He commented that it would make it navigable from the first house up <br /> Mashpee River to where the last housc and last boat is. He doesn't feel the money should b <br /> spent for these homeowners when there is a public boat ramp that is also unusable during low <br /> water. He noted that$3%000 is for the dredging and$17,000 for additional boat and <br /> navigation equipment. <br /> Mr.Arden commented that he feels the Finance Committee should support the Article <br /> because it is maintenance of the River. <br /> REQUEST FOR TRANSFER—VOTING MACHINES <br /> TOWN CLERK: <br /> Tis.Deborah Dami,Town Clerk,submitted a Request For Transfer From The Reserve Fund <br /> to the Pinancc Committee. <br /> Date: October 4, 1993 <br /> Amount Requested: $11,1500 <br /> To Be Transferred To: flections and Registration Expense <br />
