2 <br /> Ms.l ami explained that they received a phone call by a ccmpany called United Amencan <br /> selling used voting machines for$3,700, She noted that to buy a new voting machine,it <br /> would cost her$7,200 at list price. She is currently sitting on the CIP to buy four new <br /> machines in two years. <br /> She stated that she called the company that she had bought the other voting machmnes from <br /> and asked how reputable United American is. She said he told her that he has the same <br /> machines and he will sell then to her for the sameprice—all it will cost is shipping from <br /> Omaha. He also stated to her that this would guarantee warranty on the machines for one <br /> year. He said United American would ship them for free;however,it will dost her$200 for <br /> warranter for one year. <br /> Ms.rami stated that she is four years away in the CIP. <br /> The Finance Committee discussed this Request for Transfer. <br /> Ms. ]ami stated that:if the Finance Committee decided not to fimd th.e request,she could tell <br /> the company that next time they have machines available,they could call her. <br /> Mr.Golub cemented that he felt this Request for Transfer was not unusual and not an <br /> emergency. Chairwoman Goulart also commented the same. Mr.Golub stated that based on <br /> the above fact that it'is not an unusual circumstance and not an emergency situation,it is not <br /> in the FinanceCommittee's mandate to approve it. <br /> OCTOBER TOWN MEETING AR'T'ICLE <br /> .8 <br /> 3. <br /> MASHPEE RIVER DREDGING: <br /> Mr.Ferry Ellis,Hwbox master,spare to the Finance Committee regarding Article 8. He <br /> stated that this article will affect approximately 5 7 people and it will improve water quality b <br /> to 12%. He noted this Article is for the Mashpee River. He stated that Article 9 is for the <br /> entrance to Popponesset day. <br /> Mr.Ellis stated that regarding Article 8,$35,000 is only needed if ars E.I.Report is nded. <br /> He also commented that this is paid from boat fees. <br /> QCT TOWN MEETING ARTICLE 1 <br /> S wIER COMMISSIOM <br /> Chairwoman Goulart stated that the Finance Committee needs to mare a recommendation on <br /> Article 10. It was noted that this Article was originally requesting$405,140 if the'down <br /> receives approval of an application for funding assistance, the fog of a acro interest loan, <br /> from the Mamchusetts'Nater Pollution Abatement Trust's State Devolving Fund.
