Chief Baker reviewed the need for a Fire Inspector. Chief <br /> i Baker explained that it is difficult to schedule inspections during the week and then be <br /> present for the inspection and have to leave on an emergency call. He said that the mandated <br /> inspections are currently done by the Duty Officer for 4 hours 4 days a week. <br /> Chief mer noted that they can charge for the inspections and they do on some of the <br /> inspections. He noted that on some of the inspections,they don't charge what it really costs <br /> to do the inspection. He noted that with the addition of a Fire Inspector,they can look into a <br /> scale of charging for the different types of inspections. <br /> Chief Baker reviewed the duties of the Fire Prevention Inspector 4nd the list of what needs to <br /> be inspected on a regular basis. In addition,Chief Baker reviewed the tasks which would be <br /> performed weekly by the Fire Inspector,along with hove many hours per week would be spent <br /> on those tasks: <br /> 0 Permit/Final Inspections would be 768 hours per year 16 hours per week). <br /> 0 Annual Inspmflons would be 960 hours per year 0 hours per week). <br /> Public Education would be 192 bogs per year 4 hours per week). <br /> Schools,Nursing Homes,Post ice <br /> • Professional Development would be 96 hours per year hours per week). <br /> There was discussion between the Fire Chief and the Finance Committee membra <br /> concerning charging for the Inspectims And paying for the position of Fire Inspector with the <br /> collection of the Inspection Fm. <br />
