They have to spend$200 to call someone with a bucket to change light bulbs, etc. Mr.Taylor said in essence what he has been trying to do for 10 years is keep the equipment in good shape so they do not have a lot of down time when trucks go down. He has been doing a 7-year replacement so they will have some value for trade-in. The Board discussed the vehicles being replaced and the mileage. They felt the trucks should have at least 1.00,000 miles before they are replaced. Also,discussed was the number of lours the vehicles are used in a year. It was the consensus of the Board to hold untie they.find out more information on the mileage of the vehicles. .DISCUSSION OF THE TOWN MEETING WARRANT: The Board recommended all of the Articles except the following: Article 5 -regarding the CIP budget. It was agreed to keep on hold until they make a decision on the DPW and School requests. Article I I—to c"reate 2 full-time police officer positions in the Police Department. The Board voted at the last meeting to reconnuend one Police Offlicer. Article 1 —to create the position of full-tine Policc Dispatcher—This article is not needed because the position. has already been created. Ar icle l —to raise and appropriate or borrow$275,000 to the Mashpee River Dredging Account. The Board is concerned that the$275,000 would not come close to paying for the amount of work they are proposing to do. Fred Blythe made motion to disapprove the article due to the fact that the Board would like to gait until all perni is are in hand and there is ani amount of what it is going to cost the Town. Carlton.Meredith seconded. VOTED: 4-0—Unanimous Article 20—regarding the library construction grant. The Board is concerned that once the grant is submitted the Town will have to stay with that plan It was the consensus of the Board to discuss the matter with the Board of Selectmen at the Joint Meeting ting on March 26t . NEW BUSINESS, The Board discussed having a capital fund lir c item for reoccurring purchases and be cimnarked for whatever the purchase may be. It would not be for purchases large encu gb to go into the CIP budget but only for small amounts under a certain established amount, Also,discussed was the establislunent of an accrued benefits account.
