Appointment of Deirdre Greelish to the Finance Committee by the Board of Selden. <br /> Vice-Chair Carlton Meredith welcomed Deirdre Greelish on behalf of Chair Arnold and Committee members. <br /> He congratulated her on joining the Fiance Committee and said the members are looping forward to working <br /> with hcr. <br /> . Finalization of the Committee's position on flown Meeting Articles. <br /> Article : Funding for Senior Ccntcr architectural and engineering services for new construction or <br /> expansion. <br /> Nice-Chair Meredith stated that the Finance Committee voted not to recommend approval on Article <br /> based on the principal that it was not included in the F 20 1 budget. The Conmiittee is not against the <br /> Senior Center but members felt it should be considered at the May Town Meeting. <br /> Mr. Merton Sapers,22 fain Suet,Unit 35,Mashpe x Massachusetts was present at the meeting to <br /> speak on Article 6. He was present as a senior citizen and was interested in what is happening with the <br /> new proposed Senior Center, He wondered why the Finance Committee did not approve the article. <br /> He felt that approval should be by voters at Town Meeting and if the Finance Conwiittee could <br /> approve,it would be helpful to seniors. <br /> Discussion followed regarding whether the Senior Center was an emergency. Fred Blythe explained <br /> that there was a Feasibility Study done and it was chosen as a priority. The plan was to go to the <br /> October Town Meeting and ask for$190,000 for engineering and have design drawn up and go <br /> through bias process then go to May Town Meeting and ask the Town to fimd the project. At that point <br /> they would have a figure of what it would cost and in the mean time can apply for any grants. <br />
