Revisit Early Retirement for Town Employees Program. <br /> Chairman Meredith said the Town Administrator assured hien when she had all the information on the early <br /> retirement program she would call a meeting and he has not heard from her. <br /> NEW SSS: <br /> 1. Consideration of Alternative Town Employee Benefits Program. <br /> Discussion followed regarding information given by guests. Te -ie Cook will find out what is needed and have <br /> them present something to the Board and they can ung it to the Selectmen. Chairman Meredith said he would <br /> inform the Town A mm* istrator that the Finance Committee is looking into this program; she may have a lot of <br /> the answers needed. <br /> Jim Morgan asked that a note be forwarded to the Board of Selectmen to tell them what the Finance Committee <br /> is doing. Chairman Meredith appointed Terrie Cook as committee of one and he would make appointment to <br /> meet with theTown Administrator. <br /> . Association of Town Finance Committee membership and Dues. <br /> Chahmm Meredith said a cast of$170.00 is due if the members want to continue to. be part of the Town <br /> Finance Committee Association. <br /> Jim Morgan n wade motion to approve$170.00 for annual dues due on September 30",seconded by Jeff Arnold. <br /> VOTED— - —Unanimous <br /> . FinCom Communication with Department Heads. <br /> Chairman Meredith mentioned communication he had.with Board of Selectmen and TovM AdmhAstrator saying <br /> they will provide thein with all the information needed but asked for the Finance Committee to go throw <br /> "chain of comman(P. If need anything specific let the Charman know and he will go to Town Administrator <br /> and she will make sure they get cooperation. Chairman Meredith suggested that members look at list of things <br /> and people they need to talk with and over the next few weeks sit down and meet with then and get an idea of <br /> what they are looking for and get an idea of their priorities. He will be muting with department heads on July <br /> I 7`h and will reassure theme that the Finance Committee are not adversaries but advocates. His intention is to let <br /> the deponent leads know we want to get the best`bang for the buck"for the taxpayers. They will not support <br /> any new positions in the next fiscal year and if there is a need the department bead will have to identify its <br /> priorifies and what they are going to give up if they want that. <br /> 4. Proposed FinCom Meeting with Charter Commission on 7730. <br /> Chairman Meredith informed members ofineetimg with Charter Commission n July o `, t 7:00 p.m.# <br /> Kathy Lynch made motion to meet with the Charter Commission on Tuesday, July 30,2002, at 7:00 p.m., and <br /> leave open for the Finance Committee to meet, thereafter,seconded by Jeff Arnold <br /> TED— -o—Unanimous <br /> . Preparations of October Town Meeting. <br /> Chainnan Meredith said he does not have any information yet on Town Meeting articles. Discussion followed <br /> on articles and when clue in time for printing. Jim Morgan said the warrant would go to the printer m <br /> September 51h. <br /> The members agreed that they want to put an article in the warrant to increase the Reserve Fund. Chairman <br /> Meredith will talk to the Town Administrator. <br />
