She forecast a i - `fie.ant <br /> shortfall if all budgets are approved as submitted and recommends a balanced budget with <br /> outs in each department. <br /> 8 FIs. Mason suggested the Finance Cottee attend the Selectmen's budget workshop on <br /> Monday, February 14. Chairman Umina confirmed Committee will attend worksho . <br /> Mr. Avis noted that the State's website indicates the Mate aid increased $6.1 million. Nos. <br /> 'Mason.noted that increase has not yet passed and she will have,a better idea of its status <br /> closer to Town Meeting time. <br /> Mr. Long asked about the amount in the stabilization fund. Ms. Mason confirmed that 10% <br /> of budget is'the state's guideline for the fund. <br /> Ms. Mason commented that the town is in a better financial standing than many other <br /> localities. <br /> ■ Chairman Umina opened the floor for co=tints from guests attending �rneeting. <br /> Police D?yartment <br /> Mr. Rodney Collins introduced himself as the new Chief of olice. <br /> Mr. A-vis acknowledged the budget was not prepared by Chief Collins, but asked him to <br /> provide further detail ori the vehicle expenses. -He noted his concern with some patrol cars <br /> going home with officers to out-6f-town locations.
