Bob asked Joyce if their employees were <br /> going to Medicare to get A & B, and she indicated that they <br /> currently were not. Bob Hutchinson strongly stated that he thought <br /> the Selectmen should review this due to the costs. Joyce indicated <br /> she has put in for an adoption of a Massachusetts General Law at <br /> 'own Meeting in May in order to make this change. Joyce pointed <br /> out to the Finance Committee that this would comae at a cost <br /> because Joyce said they would have to fund whatever the cost was <br /> for the retirees to go over to this forced plan, the cost was not <br /> known at this time. Where were questions raised by Bob <br /> Hutchinson and Ken Patrick concerning the actual cost of this <br /> change. Joyce Mason stated that she will elaborate more about the <br /> cost at the next meeting. It was discussed and agreed that there <br /> would be a long terra savings by forcing the retirees to go to <br /> Medicare to get A A B. <br /> Bill Johnson asked Joke Mason how a budget is structured when <br /> it is submitted. Joyce indicated there will be more detail seen this <br /> year. Joyce also stated that a budget report analysis has been <br /> requested and will be attached to the budget that explains any <br /> significant changes in the request and the reason behind it. <br /> Bob Hutchinson initiated a discussion with Joyce Mason regarding <br /> budgeting and whether there were guidelines given the School and <br /> `own. Joyce Mason stated that there were guidelines, and it has <br /> been asked that there be no increase in salaries. Joyce also noted <br /> that electricity seems to be stabilizing,and that there should not be <br /> any major increases in energy costs. Bob Hutchinson also asked if <br /> there were any new school initiatives, and Joyce sued she did not <br /> know what the school initiatives were at this time. <br /> There was a short discussion regarding a proposed three 3 year <br /> budget. Bill Johnson added that this would assist inre grin for <br /> p � g <br /> what may lie down the road, Joyce stated that she believes <br /> something could be pulled together by the departments to show <br /> treads. Bob Hutchinson expressed satisfaction with the proposed <br /> budget. <br /> Joyce Mason stated that under the Charter, it(the budget)has to b <br /> presented separately. It has to be put into the paper. The plan is to <br /> advertise it on December 8,2006,and December 20,2006 there <br /> evil] be a public he"anng. Joyce Mason would like to attempt to <br /> hold a meeting at Town Hall as well. <br />
