Chris Avis had expressed concern over the
funds that are paid out for the maintenance of the same.
There was also discussion concerning the Town of Mashpee police officer who was out
on a lengthy worker's compensation claim. Joyce Mason stated that she would be unable
to answer any questions, or make any comments due to the fact that this was also
currently in litigation.
Joyce Mason noted to the Prance Committee members that the Town had ahiring
freeze. Approximately Seven Hundred ($700,000.00) has been returned to the Town.
It was discussed whether there should be an incentive or reward for a tura back. It was
noted that perhaps departments would not be so quick to return unused finds if it was
thought that the department would be penalized and given less funding the next year
(since it has not used all it's funding and returned some funds). Bob Hutchinson
expressed strongly that this needs to be addressed.
Joyce Mason advised the FinCon.Board members that there was a Finance Committee
Member Association which was available to all members of Finance Committees, and
asked if any of Mashpee' Fi nCorn's members would be interested in j oining the
L
2
f
