There were suggestions, and <br /> discussion, including the creation of a"short term recruitment committee". Bill Johnson feels <br /> strongly that involving students(Mashpee students attending Cape Cod Community College)in <br /> Town Govermment will lead to interest, and the ability for the Town to fill future vacancies. <br /> Article XI discussion. Ed Larkin addressed the Cottee with his strong opposition to the <br /> proposed Article, and presented an alternative. Mr. Larkin stated that the proposed Article is <br /> complicated,and would require an amendment to Charter. Bill Johnson also expressed his <br /> concern about the Article. It is both Bob Hutchinson's and Mr. Larkin's opinion that the Article <br /> is premature. <br /> School Medical Reimbursement. No update. <br /> Waste Water Management. Sandra Lindsey contacted the Town Manager of Chatham. Chatham <br /> has a combined water and sewer department. The Toga,of Chatham anticipates any further <br /> expenses will be directed to their subcontracted provider,thereby not increasing the overhead to <br /> manage the wastewater project. <br /> 3 year plan. leo update. Chris Avis its to look at other tens in the Commonwealth closer t <br /> Mahpee in terms of demographics, etc. Bill Johnson agreed,but expressed concern about the <br /> time available, and does not want to risk missing future budgets. Ann Bradshaw will look at <br /> some districts off Cape, but feels there are many similarities With other Cape conrniunities. Vis. <br /> Bradshaw expressed interest in the Finance Committee's objectives, and Bill Johnson explained <br /> a need to understand programs, costs, and benefits of the same,and comparing this to other <br /> towns. Mr. Johnson feels strongly the taxpayers need to know how their money is being spent. <br /> Terme Cooly noted that in poorer communities,there is such higher Chapter 70 funding, and this <br /> needs to be taken into consideration.
