Fire Station Building Committee Minutes 2 March 41, 1999 REPORI-0- F-THEARC MT C � Upon due diligence, the Committee agreed to approve of Dmp Scheme B,new construction,to em*ce the needs of the 'own of Mashpee, and to obtain enhanced long tern value for the community while meeting the goals and objectives of the Board of Selectmen to reduce project cost estimates for the intended scope. The option of new construction will eliminate the need for temporary housing. Construction is anticipated to be completed in approximately ten months. It is the consensus of the Committee to bid separately,the position of Clerk of the works. It was rioted that the Committee received an estimate from.the former architect in the amount of$3.7 million to construct a two phased building in 1.5 years with the consideration to temporarily house the crew and administrative units of the Fire Department. Motion made by Mir. Baker to support and recommend the Board of Selectmen approve Design Scheme 2 ; (new crew quarters,administrative space,and apparatus bay south of the existing apparatus bays with a full basement) for an estimated sunt of$2.4 million* Motion seconded by Mr. Peltier, VOIE: Unanimous. 6-0. fn other business,the Committee was in receipt,of correspondence from "on Counset,David Doneski dated February 2 ,, 1999 relative t addendum's proposed for the Agreement between the Town of Mashpee and Wallacel,Floyd,Associates to provide bask architectural services for the Fire Station project. The issue of site visits was discussed. The Committee agreed to permit the architect to conduct site visits on an as needed basis, and to further reduce the cost of weekly site inspections. As agreed, language relative to Withholding of Payments,Article 10.5.1 VViII be contained in the subject document. All other language was approved by the Committee for the Selectmen's review and approval.
