Fire Station Building Committee <br /> Minutes 2 <br /> March 41, 1999 <br /> REPORI-0- F-THEARC MT C � <br /> Upon due diligence, the Committee agreed to approve of <br /> Dmp Scheme B,new construction,to em*ce the needs of the <br /> 'own of Mashpee, and to obtain enhanced long tern value for the <br /> community while meeting the goals and objectives of the Board <br /> of Selectmen to reduce project cost estimates for the intended scope. <br /> The option of new construction will eliminate the need for temporary <br /> housing. Construction is anticipated to be completed in approximately <br /> ten months. It is the consensus of the Committee to bid separately,the <br /> position of Clerk of the works. <br /> It was rioted that the Committee received an estimate from.the <br /> former architect in the amount of$3.7 million to construct a two phased <br /> building in 1.5 years with the consideration to temporarily house the <br /> crew and administrative units of the Fire Department. <br /> Motion made by Mir. Baker to support and recommend <br /> the Board of Selectmen approve Design Scheme 2 ; <br /> (new crew quarters,administrative space,and apparatus bay <br /> south of the existing apparatus bays with a full basement) <br /> for an estimated sunt of$2.4 million* <br /> Motion seconded by Mr. Peltier, <br /> VOIE: Unanimous. 6-0. <br /> fn other business,the Committee was in receipt,of correspondence from <br /> "on Counset,David Doneski dated February 2 ,, 1999 relative t <br /> addendum's proposed for the Agreement between the Town of Mashpee <br /> and Wallacel,Floyd,Associates to provide bask architectural services <br /> for the Fire Station project. <br /> The issue of site visits was discussed. The Committee agreed to permit <br /> the architect to conduct site visits on an as needed basis, and to further <br /> reduce the cost of weekly site inspections. As agreed, language relative <br /> to Withholding of Payments,Article 10.5.1 VViII be contained in the subject <br /> document. All other language was approved by the Committee for <br /> the Selectmen's review and approval. <br />
