Fire Station Building Committee <br /> Minutes <br /> March 1 ,, 1999 <br /> .present: Joyce Mason, George Baker, Dr. Elizabeth Nth, <br /> Peter Thomas, George Weniak,Joseph Peltier <br /> Guests: Pro.ect Architects ^Len Bertau , James May <br /> Firefighter-Kevin Long <br /> Meeting Cll d to. rd r by Chairman Mason at 5:3 5 p.m. <br /> Town: alb, Conference Room#2. <br /> WNUTES, <br /> Thursday... r 1999• <br /> Motion made by fir.Petti to approve the minutes of Thursday, <br /> March 4, 1999 as presented. <br /> .emotion seconded by Mr.Baker. <br /> YQTE: Tnani ous. 6-0. <br /> REPORT OF DE AKFUTECL <br /> The Fire Station Building Committee met with Project Architects of <br /> Wallace,Floyd, Associates for the purpose of reviewing their presentation <br /> proposal to members of the Board of Selectmen. <br /> It was noted that Article 44 of the Special Town Meeting warrant is proposed <br /> to fund the repair and renovation/construction of the Town's Central Fire <br /> Station, and to provide for the design of the South Mashpee station. <br /> Mr. May presented design schematics to the Committee relative to the <br /> conceptual design presentation. At their last meeting,the Committee <br /> unanimously agree to support and recommend the Board of Selectmen <br /> approve Design Scheme 2B, new construction, for an estimated sum of <br /> $2.4 million. <br /> A site plan schematic depicting the future Boys' andGirls' Club, proposed <br /> funeral home and existing police station was also reviewed. It was noted <br /> that the conceptual design layout is similar to the appearance of the funeral <br /> parlor. It is the consensus of the Committee to support design development <br /> concordant to the funeral facility and existing police station delineation. <br /> Field's Boit,the developers will be consulted with respect to this regard. <br />
