Elizabeth Peti, <br /> George Wezak, Joseph Peltier <br /> Absent: Pete-Thomas <br /> Guests: James May—Wallace,Floyd Associates, Inc. <br /> Len Bertaux— vall ce,Floyd,Associates, Ipc. <br /> Sheldon Hamblin—Deputy Fire Chief <br /> Meeting convened: 10:05 a.m. <br /> Ton Hall, Conference Room 1. <br /> Due to a posting technicality,the Fire Station Building Committee held an <br /> informal meeting with the Project Architects of Wallace,Floyd, <br /> Associates, Inc. to discuss potential design changes to reduce the <br /> construction costs for the renovation of the Mashpee Fire&Rescue <br /> Station. <br /> REPORT OF THE ARCHITECT <br /> A summary ofJro'ected construction costs totaling$2,159,837was <br /> p <br /> presented to the Committee reflecting design development estimations for <br /> the Fire&Rescue project component. The figure is approximately 10% <br /> higher than anticipated, and does not include funds for architectural <br /> services. <br /> It was noted that the voters approved the sung of$2,403,530 at the May <br /> 1999 Annual Town fleeting for the Fire &Rescue Station renovation <br /> project proposal. <br /> In an effort to reduce construction cost calculations, several design <br /> scenarios were considered. <br /> Mr..M y suggested the Committee eliminate the expansion of the rear <br /> parking spaces to twenty, and reduce the front parking area o three <br /> spaces. Chief Baker indicated that it is necessary to have twenty-four <br /> spaces to allow for the change of staff shifts. The sidewalk area was also <br /> recommended to be removed from the design proposal. <br />
