Elevator access will be included in the design component. <br /> The architect proposed to reduce the number of windows to 25%. This <br /> includes reducing the number of 1/ windows in stairwells, and'reducing <br /> the size and number of windows in the crew quarters and living areas. <br /> The concrete masonry unit wainscot at interior partitions has been <br /> recommended to be eliminated from the construction budget. Changing <br /> the epoxy finish in the apparatus bays to sealed concrete will sage an <br /> estimated sum of$37,000. <br /> Vinyl tile is proposed as flooring in the toilet rooms opposed to ceramic <br /> tile. The Committee agreed to consider the use of ceramic the in the <br /> shower areas. The use of sheet vinyl for wet areas was also considered. <br /> Vinyl is also proposed as baseboard material in lieu of wood. Sheetrock is <br /> has been recommended for the kitchen area only. The architect has <br /> proposed that the remainder of the building contain acoustical ceiling grid. <br /> The number of cabinets in the kitchen area was reduced. Chief Baker <br /> recommended the architect design the kitchen to include; four 24"x24" <br /> cabinets for pantry shelving to include a cabinet for pots and pans. <br /> The architect will review the potential to reuse the existing air compressor. <br /> In additi nl,the existing emergency generator will be considered for reuse. <br /> primum equipment needs were discussed. <br /> NEP Engineering and Fire Protection will be requested to further review <br /> the potential to reuse the existing emergency generator. The Committee <br /> suggested that the rehab and installation of the unit equipped with a <br /> transfer switch should be considered for indoor mounting. <br />
