Fire Station Building Committee Minutes March 27, 2000 Present: Joyce Mason, George Baler, Dr. Elizabeth Petti, George Wenn i Absent: Peter Thomas Joseph Peltier Guests: Doreen Guild—Assistant Ton Accountant Meeting Called to Order by Chairman Mason at 1:05 p.m. Town lull, Conference Boon NffN-LJTES: : Mondav,March 2000: Motion made by lair. Baker to approve the minutes of Monday,March 13,2000 as presented. Motion seconded by Mr. We nI*a VOTE: Unanimous. - . Clerk of the orfs: The Chairman received correspondenc6 from Town Counsel with respect to the overtime assignment of work for the Assistant Building Inspector to serve as Clerk of the Works for the M slipee Fire &Rescue Station renovation project. It is Town Counsel's opinion that the Town can offer an overtime assignment to the Assistant Building Inspector to oversee the construction of the renovation project to ensure compliance with all building codes in lieu of hiring him under a separate contract to serve as temporary Clerk of the Works. To adhere to the teras of the collective bargaining unit agreement, the Assistant Building Inspector must be paid for all the wort perfortned in excess of his regular Forty hours at the rate of tine-and-one-half The job duties of the Clerk of the Works require daily monitoring of construction activities for conformance with plans and specifications,, maintaining job site records and ensuring that all building rnatenals and practices are in accordance with building code and construction documents.
