Fire Station Building Committee <br /> Minutes <br /> August 1 , 2000 <br /> REPORT OF TIHE A CFETECT: <br /> Discussion followed with respect to a comprehensive third paw review <br /> of the intended project. A complete third party review was estimated to <br /> cost $5,,000 t $10,,000. Mr. Bertaux indicated that his firm W1*11 conduct <br /> and internal review at no additional cost to the Town. <br /> The-Building Committee directed the architect to conduct an internal <br /> review. Mr. Bertaux stated that his office will conduct a thorough review, <br /> and respond to coordination issues with the structural engineer. He will <br /> report to the Committee in approximately four weeks. <br /> Again,Mr. Bertaux apologized for Ammann& Whitney, and added that ' <br /> the mature of the change orders should not be outside the % cap a <br /> planned. The Wallace Floyd Design Group will do all to support the <br /> project to ultimately Become a successful project ensured Mr. Bertaux. <br /> Deputy Hamblin also requested the architect further review the electrical <br /> configuration of the project. 1n particular, circuit#16 was suggested to be <br /> reviewed to consider load specifications. <br /> In other business, the Committee reviewed the request of the general <br /> contractor to substitute aluminum clad Pella or Marvin windows with an <br /> all vinyl product. Standen Construction Company is offering a credit o <br /> $3,000 for the product substitution_ The architect did not agree to the <br /> substitution.request. The Building Committee unanimously rejected the <br /> window substitution request. <br /> Without a final project schedule,the arhitect indicated that he will not <br /> grant.any additional day requests from the general contractor, as there is <br /> no basis to evaluate the information at this time. <br />
