Mashpee Library Report - 2-
•. II
Additional metal bookcases were installed on the lower level
as the young people' s collection expanded.
A new walkway with railings for the handicapped has been
completed, and the original flagstone front walk has been
moved to the rear of the building to make exits more accessible
to the parking lot.
The library was awarded an incentive grant for 1980-81 by the
Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners. Monies from this
account will be used to supplement funds previously budgeted for
book and furniture expenditures.
As Mashpee's population increases so does the demand for library
services. To meet the needs of all potential library users,
their needs should be identified. A community library analysis
could aid in developing goals and objectives pertinent to
Mashpee regarding the future direction of library services, the
possible need for facility expansion, personnel implementation,
extended library hours, and the types of resources available for
use.
•
Respectfully submitted,
Gloria Selander
Librarian
•
