ANT o BLT S HBNFELDT .f <br /> HELENE DEFOE, LIBRARY DIRECTOR <br /> CHARLOTTE FANEUIL <br /> CHERYL RAWER <br /> TERRI HYDE <br /> NDREA ROBERTSON <br /> GLORIA SLANDER <br /> DICK SHAU HNES SY <br /> II MINUTES of PREVIOUS MEETING. <br /> The minutes of the May 1+, 1996 meeting were accepted as printed. <br /> III REPORTS: <br /> Friends: Terri Hyde reported that the Friends earned $130. from this month' <br /> book sale. Terri reported further that the Friends of .the Library planned to <br /> have a meeting in the library meeting room with some musical entertainment <br /> with Melinda Gallant on Thursday, July 18th'at 7 p. m. Terri suggested that <br /> the trusteetry to attend and bring a friend. <br /> Library Director: Helene reported circulation for the month has increased <br /> 856 items overr- the previous April's figures, resulting in a 15% increase <br /> over April. 1995.- Year-to-date circulation totalled 67,920. With tato month <br /> to go in the fiscal year, circulation is expected to top 80,000 items for <br /> the first time. <br /> The library has received two computers which were offered through the <br /> state bid process. The Library received an excellent price on two personal <br /> computers, one of which will. go .into Helene's office. The other will be <br /> placed in the workroom for the staff's use in preparation of reports* <br /> Acme office Systems returned to readjust the shelves which were -initially <br /> installed incorrectly: Helene withheld payment until the changes were made. <br /> Therefore, the library has had two: large expenses taken out of the construction <br /> grant: the computers and the shelving. <br /> Helene explained, at this point, they' were using the -Incentive .Grant mainly <br /> to- insure that they spend the 1.9% on books. Helene was tryin.g to order a <br /> heavily as she could on books since patrons were borrowing them,.:-at a pheno- <br /> menal rate. <br /> Helene explained there will be money left in the Capital Account since that. <br /> was provided for the heating system. $15,000 had been appropriated, and it <br /> rax about $13,500, therefore there gill. be money left in that account that <br /> cannot be spent on anything else. <br />
