Library Director: Helene DeFoe reported that circulation for the <br /> month of .January totalled 6,844 transactions, Circulation exceeded <br /> last January. by 604 items. There had been five days during the month <br /> when daily transactions exceeded 40 per day. <br /> During tie Month, X430.5 in overdue fines had been collected. ea.r-to- <br /> date, $3,543.26 have been turn' ed over to the Treasurer's Office. <br /> Mrs. DeFoe and Mrs.. Makunas have -made very good progress - using the CLAMS_ <br /> serials module to check in magazines and newspapers. <br /> B. Friends of the Library: Helene reported that there had been a book sale <br /> at the beginning of the month but she had no figures to report, <br /> C. Budget: H. DeFoe reported when the library trustees last met, the budget <br /> had been submitted. Following that, she had met. with Bob whritenour to <br /> review what had been submitted. Mr. Whritenour bas recommended the <br /> library's budget be accepted as it was submitted. It will have to be <br /> renewed by -the other two boards, <br /> P. <br /> } <br /> IST DISCUSSION ON GRANT FROM THE CAFE COD NEIGHBORHOOD SUPPORT COALITION: <br /> -Helene reported they had completed the grant application and submitted it. <br /> Helene explained haat here was a great dead, more competition for the grant <br /> monies than she would have thought. They were unable to fully fund any of the <br /> grants as they were submitted; the Mahpee Library probably received one of <br /> the largest. The ' had asked for $10,000, and between the Falmouth and I ashpee <br /> Libraries they received $6,000. There had been . n award ceremony two weed. <br /> ago at the high school where they announced each organization; there was a <br /> representative from each group to accept the checks. -"Thur will not receive <br /> the actual monies until sometime in March. It will be A really exciting pro- <br /> gram; the first joint venture between the Mashpee and Falmouth Libraries. <br />
