Shaughnessy recommended a charge -in format of minutes . <br /> III REPORTS : <br /> Friends of the Library ; Report presented by Ro-se Shan er. <br /> Discussion of the First Annual Piano Recital , a fundraiser t <br /> benefit the Mashpee Public -Library Expansion . <br /> Discussion of admission -char. a vs . donation' bas-is . <br /> Distribution of progrra.m anal tickets to the piano recital, <br /> Library Director : Helene Defoe reported that circulation for <br /> the month of N vember 1998 totaled 7 , 610 . ele,ne ' s written <br /> report ,for the month of November was distributed. The report <br /> for the- month -of December was not available. That will be <br /> handed out at th.e February regular meet ing . <br /> Helene explained she, had been working on the library budget <br /> Helene had spent a great deal of time , weeding the collections <br /> Helene- stated that . they periodically . &o th.roug.h . the collection <br /> to examine items for co.nd it ion, .c irculat ion and availability& <br /> There we-re three sections which were- very over cro.wed ,' 'the large <br /> print , the young a ' lt, and the mysteries . This o. ercro ding of <br /> th.e shelves shows' growth here, and the need for expansion . <br /> -Helene explained that many of these books gill . be sold in the <br /> Friends booRsale . , Otherwise$ the library can offer them to <br /> whomever would have a use for them. <br /> T-e-ri explained that she selects light reading and large print <br /> boos and donates them to the- local nursing Domes , senior - r <br /> centers., and local thrift shops . Teri stated she -was open to <br /> suggestions relative to recycling -these books . <br />
