July 5, 1999 <br /> MASHPEE PUBLIC LIBRARY - PSA <br /> CALENDAR OF EVENTS <br /> Thursday, July 15th, 7 p.m.Milton Glass, chairman of <br /> Tie—Eb—ar-d--o ue ross-Blue Shield, will speak on <br /> the Health Care Non-System. He will also discuss <br /> the opportunities for education and travel in <br /> Elderhostel for people 50 and over. At the Library <br /> meeting room. Refreshments . <br /> Thursday, August 5th, 7 p.m, Elisa Pearmain, noted <br /> storyteller and author,will do a storytelling workshop <br /> for parents , grandparents . , and all adults . Ms . Pearmain <br /> will share ideas for preserving tales for future <br /> generations , creating family rituals for story sharing , <br /> and finding picture books to stimulate family tales . <br /> At the Library meeting room. Refreshments . <br /> Saturday, August 21st , 7 : 30 p.m. , Diane Irion and <br /> er string quartette, will present a chamber music <br /> concert in the Library (a first) ,with refreshments <br /> served in the Meeting Room following the concert for <br /> a meet-the-artists gathering. Library Expansion fund- <br /> raiser, suggested donation $5 . <br /> Saturday, September 18th, 10 a .m. , Peg Maddocks , author <br /> of Cambridge Girl , and former resident of Falmouth now <br /> living in California , will be with us for a booksigning . <br /> At the Library meeting room. Refreshments . <br /> Tuesday , September 21st, 7 p.m. , David Mason Heminway <br /> an American poet , who has lived in Italy for over <br /> 40 years, and who' will be visiting the' U.S . in the Fall , <br /> will talk about his new book of poetry, It isn ' t Every Day, <br /> and will read brief excerpts . <br /> Wednesdays , September 29th, October 20th, and December 1st , <br /> from 1 to 3 p.m. , Diana L. Smith, our newly elected <br /> Library Trustee whose many talents include that of <br /> Master Chef will present a series of talks on cooking, <br /> serving, and decorating called , "What ' s Cooking at the Library?" <br /> Contact person : Rose Shanker 477-0479 <br />
