Action: Library Director works with Mashpee's Network Administrator and the project architect to <br /> develop it long-term strategy to add more technology to the expanded library. <br /> Action: The Library Building Committee and the library staff work with the project architect on a library <br /> design based on information gathered from the feasibility study, <br /> Action: Library Director and Children's Librarian meet with the SEMLS Youth Services Administrator <br /> SEMLS to discuss space planning issues for Children's Services in the expanded library. <br /> Action: The Library Building Project is included in Mashpce's Capital Improvement Program for FY <br /> 2001. <br /> Coal 5: Make collections more accessible to patrons. <br /> Action: Relocate Adult Reference Collection to another area so stacks are contiguous and easier for <br /> patrons to follow shelving sequence. Make Juvenile Reference collection more prominent and educate <br /> children and parents on how it can be used to augment the circulating collection. <br /> Action: Create a separate area for Native American Reference Collection. <br /> Action: Work with architect to create more attractive and prominent areas in the expanded facility for <br /> circulating collections of Native American materials, and Young Adult materials. Explore ways to display <br /> and shelve the library's audiovisual collections. <br /> Action: Address accessibility issues for physically challenged patrons during feasibility study to ensure <br /> that the library design meets ADA standards and improves the delivery of library services for disabled <br /> patrons. <br /> Action: Increase use of electronic resources for children and their parents. <br /> Evaluation: Conduct Internet workshops for children and parents at the library, demonstrating <br /> how to locate, evaluate and use information found on web sites. <br /> Evaluation: Provide patrons with demonstrations of how to use library software and online <br /> databases more fully. <br /> Action: Provide more orientation to students about the library's collections and ways in which these <br /> collections may be used for school assignments. <br /> Evaluation: Conduct library tours for all I"grade students and their teachers. Set up a series of <br /> Arthur Clubs for students in K-3"'grade. Recruit older students as junior volunteers and ask them <br /> to adopt a shelf in the collection that they will keep in order <br /> 3 <br />
