Mashpee Public Library FY 2001 Action Plans <br /> Service Goals and Objectives <br /> Goal 1: Increase interaction between the Public Library and the School Department to better serve <br /> the needs of the community's school children and their parents. <br /> Action: Schedule meetings with school librarians and school reading specialists so the public library can <br /> provide some input into the makeup of the schools' summer reading list and be more aware of what's <br /> required of students before they come to the library for summer reading materials. <br /> Action: Schedule orientation sessions for teachers at the High School and provide packets orinformation <br /> on the types of resources available to teachers and their students at the public library. <br /> Evaluation: Count number of teachers who attend orientation sessions or request packets of <br /> information. <br /> Action: Survey teachers about the types of services the public library might provide for them and their <br /> students. <br /> Evaluation: Review survey results to see what services teachers are looking for. If adding <br /> services increases staffing requirements, factor that into upcoming budget request. <br /> Action: Increase the number of teacher cards issued to Mashpee teachers. <br /> Evaluation measure: Count the number of cards issued to teachers compared to FY 2000. <br /> Goal 2: Work with Friends of the Library and Library Trustees on Fundraising issues. <br /> Action: Assist the Friends of the Library in expanding the membership of their Fundraising Committee <br /> and explore sources of training for members of the committee. <br /> Action: Work with Fundraising Committee to determine a goal of how much money they might raise for <br /> the building expansion project and what groups and individuals they might target for direct donations. <br /> Action: Assist Fundraising Committee in creating a packet of materials for the fundraising project, which <br /> would include things like schematic drawings and a brochure for potential donors. <br />
