Date: November ber 1, 2001 To: Helene B. IeFoe From: Janet Burke Monthly Report In October I began making visits to the first grade classrooms at the K.C. Coombs School in order to encourage the children to obtain their oven library cards. I visit the classes and distribute library card applications, and then the classes visit the library for a field trip. During the field trip the students receive a tour of the Children's Room of the library, listen to some stories, and select a book to cheep out. I visited the following classrooms: Oct. 3rd Mrs. Robello 1 Oct. 3 d Ms. Fussell 2 Oct. 12"' Mrs. Wilber 21 Oct. 12"' Mrs. Cullum 21 Oct. 12" Mrs. Greene 21 Oct. 22nd Mrs. Connor 20 Oct. 29' Mrs. Murphy 5 21 The following classes visited the library in October: i Oct. 17"' Ms. Russell 20 Oct. 17" Mrs. Robello 1 Oct. 23'a Mrs. Greene 21 Oct. 2tn Mrs. Wilber 21 Oct. 25" Mrs. Cullum 21 The Title I Program at the K.C. Coombs School, which includes students in grades 1 through 3, held a very successful evening evert at the library last octobef, and so they approached nye to speak to the parents and children again this year. The evening program was held on October 16th and the attendance was a remarkable 72. Kids Klub visited the library on Oct. 3 d. The children enjoyed a story time and checked out books. The attendance was 2 . The-monthly Family Story Time was held on Oct. 6th in conjunction with of toberfest. The attendance was 10. The Waldorf School, located in Bourne, approached me about sponsoring a family story time in order to promote awareness of the school. one of the teachers put on a puppet show and servedorrid e to an audience of 10 on Oct. 13th. It was a wonderful program � g and the school appreciated the publicity. Since attendance was minimal, I suggested that they rm*ght have better attendance in the winter. I have been in touch with the school and they plan to do a return visit. k I
