Building Committee : David explained that- Helene had brought the meeting up to date relative t6 the building process . � David stated that the building committee toould probably meet one more time before the year was out . David reported that he had spoken. at the Mashpee Iiwanis Club . Most of their programs are geared toward -children. They have invited David to reappear after the first of the year, ' They would like to discuss being involved with the library. providing funds and resources for the children ' s section* 1v COMMUNICATIONS : Hel e'ne reported that she had mailed the forms to the trustees relative to the Friends of the Library trustees Workshop on November 4/2000 in Marlborough. Helene had requested that they complete those forms if they were interested in- attendings Helene would take care of sending them in for registration. Helene sug-gested that potentially there could be somecar- pooling . V NEW BUSINESS .Jim Walker questioned why the town was not taking a larger part in the construction of the future library . 1 . Helene explained that the Town had several capital projects in the works ; they have the Firehouse , Liesure Services , a new aimed that their f eel in has- been Senior Center . Helene explained g . ' that unless we can make this attractive -to the Town , we, may find ourselves considerably down the 1-i e, since the Town cannot afford everything, arnd certainly notAn ire the time-frame we would like. Any time y'ou can go to the Town and say., we have been able to raise this amount of money, not only lessens thefinan- cial burden, but also shows the commitment in the community that this is a priority .
