DeFoe <br /> From Janet Burke <br /> Re: Monthly Report <br /> The month of July has seers a lot of activity in the Children's Room as 219children <br /> registered to participate in the Summer Reading Program. Each child received a reading <br /> log on which to keep track ofthe amount of time spent reading this summer. Each week <br /> the-children bring their reading log into the library to be stamped and receive a small <br /> prize. <br /> 1 have been running two weekly contests to inspire the children to visit the library. Each <br /> week the Trivia Contest winner receives "A Star Spangled Summer at Your Library" T� <br /> shirt. Two Book Blurb (which is a mini book report) Contest winners receive "A Star <br /> Spangled Sumner at Your Library" water bottle. Many parents have commented. <br /> favorably about the weekly contests and incentives as inspiring their child to continue to <br /> read, <br /> As part of the Summer Reading Program, 1 have held a Family Story Time ever <br /> Saturday. on Saturdays l announce the winners of the weekly contests. The attendance <br /> has been as follows: <br /> July 'h 1 <br /> July 13"' 1 <br /> July 20t' 1 <br /> July 27" 1 <br /> Kathleen Battles, our Early Childhood Specialist from the Upper Cape Family Network, <br /> had the following attendance for the summer sessions of Toddle Tiume and Babies and <br /> Beyond: <br /> July IS, <br /> Toddle Time I <br /> Toddle Time 11 o <br /> July 8'h Toddle Time I 1 l <br /> Toddle Time 11 1 <br /> July 15'h Toddle Time I 9 <br /> Toddle Time II 12' <br /> July 22 d Toddle Time I 10 <br /> Toddle Time li <br /> July 29th Toddle Time I 9 <br /> Toddle Time 11 <br /> We received a mini-grant from the Bayberry Quilters of Cape Cod. The funding was <br /> used to bring fiber artist and children's book illustrator, Salley Mavor,to the library on <br /> July 91". There were 30 participants who enjoyed her presentation. The grant funding <br /> was also used to begin the Quilting Club. The Quilting Club, which has been planned <br />
