Monthly Reprt <br /> The month of July has seen a lot of activity in the Children's Room as over 200.children <br /> have .registered to participate in the Statewide Summer Leading Program. This past <br /> spring I collaborated with the public schools in lashpee and this year the reading logs <br /> were seat lone through the schools. All of the students in grades K through 4 are <br /> required to log their reading time. when they bring their reading log into the library, they <br /> receive a small prize for their reading effort and for visiting the library. <br /> The theme of the Sumner Reading Program is "Read! Thinly! Create! @ your library". <br /> In keeping with the theme, we have held a,Drop-In Craft Activity on Tuesday afternoons. <br /> The attendance was as follows: <br /> July 1 t <br /> July 'h 10 <br /> July I5'h .7 <br /> July 22='d 12 <br /> For older students, we have held a weekly Scrabble Club every Tbursday afternoon. We <br /> have 17 students registered and 2 parent volunteers. -The attendance varies each week: <br /> July 3 rd I I <br /> July I O,h 10 <br /> July 17t" 11 <br /> July 24'x' <br /> July 1st 1 <br /> As part of the Summer Reading program,,I have offered a Weekly Trivia Contest. The <br /> winner each week receives a"Read! Think! Create'. @ yo' r library" T-Shirt. We have <br /> had the following participation for the Trivia Contest; <br /> July 7th 1 entries <br /> July 14 h 51 entries <br /> July 21" 34 entries <br /> July 2 1-entries <br /> FamilySto ime was held on Jul 5 with an attendance'of 5. <br /> On July 8th we held an evening family event. The Friends of the Mashpee Library <br /> sponsored-storyteller, Alicia Quintano. The attendance for this event was 22. <br /> We .had a children's concert by Rick Goldin on July 29th. The I a h ee Cultural Council <br /> sponsored this event and the attendance was 120. <br />
