. s. <br /> _ - - - - IL- <br /> BOARD of LIBRARY TRUSTEES <br /> REGULAR MONTHLY LY M TING <br /> S A 9 FEBRUARY 17,2005 <br /> iMASIVEE LIBRARY <br /> Present: David Burton, Ann MacDonald-Dailey,Dianna Smith, Carlo D'Este,Feather Lal otos,Nancy <br /> Stafford,Nancy Soderberg, and Helene Ieoe,Library Director. <br /> David Burton, Chairman, called the meet g to order at 6,1 o p.m. On behalf of the Library Trustees, <br /> David expressed condolences to Ann MacDonald-Dailey on the recent passing of her father. David <br /> mentioned that the Board of Library Trustees was donating 100. to the Boys&Girls Club in memory <br /> of Ann's father. <br /> Director effort <br /> Helene provided following feedback on the grwit application: <br /> Application done weekend before the grant was due. <br /> Sheldon presented the application to the Selectmen, and they signed it. <br /> copies of the grant papers had to be provided. Helene 1s looking to make 4 more copies for <br /> future uses, such as fundraising efforts. <br /> $1.7 Million was built in for 3 coati encies�--�-�n ely: Design, Construction, and Project. <br /> $1.8Mllin to be accomplished via fundraising. <br /> Looking at$238/square foot,which includes building and fishings. <br /> Grant does not cover furnishings except fpr metal shelving so fundraising could have more time <br /> to gather thefunds funds that are being applied to f u- i shings. <br /> o Helene said the Library Staff was fantastic in their support during the time she had to devote to <br /> work on the grant application. <br /> Shelley, Stewart, and Helene net in the Wrentham Library with the Building Consultant from <br /> the ALO and she reviewed the grant application and made comments and edits. She lilted the <br /> design and thought it was well done and that the mffi r"tweaking"only made it better. <br /> This time 41 are applying for the grant; last time 58 were applying. <br /> David added the comment that he meets weekly with Ted Nodoln r and also with others on fundraising. <br /> A certain amount has"to be in cash; a certain-amount can be%n pledges. They've net with Martha <br /> Moore from Associated Grant Makers and identified 18 potential sources for grant funds. <br /> Helene thea distributed a copy of the January 2005 CLAMS Circulation Statistics report,which was <br /> reviewed. Copy of the CLAMS report is attached to the printed set of these minutes. <br /> Janet Burke" report for the month of Janes was distributed to the Trustees and it was reviewed and <br /> discussed. Copy of Janet's report is attached to the printed set of these minutes. In particular,Janet was <br /> given accolades by the Trustees not only-for all her fine efforts but,also, for the donations that have <br /> been made to the Library by various groups, such as the Kiwani , as noted Mn the attached monthly <br /> report. <br /> In addition, Janet applied for a grant and received $1100 from the willowbend Children's Charity. With <br /> this $1100 the Library is buying a set of book."Pram Sea to Shining Sea",which is a state-by-state <br /> reference tool. Helene will ask Janet to send a thank-you letter and to do a ate-up for the newspaper. <br />
