There were 31 children who enjoyed story time. The Drama Club presented a performance of"The Great Kapok Tree"on May 7th. This was the culmination of an 8-week drama workshop at the library under the direction of Lee Drescher. The eleven students performed for an audience of 50. On May 16th I met with the Mashpee Public Schools' Curriculum Director and school librarians to create a suggested summer reading list for Grades K through 4. Summer reading logs will be distributed through the schools. This is the third summer that the schools and the public library have collaborated on the Summer Reading Program. The Upper Cape Family Network held their quarterly meeting on May 16'h at the Mashpee Public Library. The Children's Librarians Roundtable Meeting was held on May 20'h. The Mashpee Library hosted this month's meeting. We held a mini Performers' Showcase of 3 local performers: a storyteller, a puppet show and a clown. I included the children who regularly attend Preschool Story Hour, so that we would have an audience of children and be able to witness their reactions to the performers. A total of 30 people attended this event.
